How Would BP's 'Top Kill' Method Work?

  1. Here is a suggestion on how to stop it:

    ----start
A sure way to cap BP wild well, without even cutting the Riser Pipe, is by using a thermite bomb consisting of a thermite charge (a mixture of aluminum powder and iron III oxide powder with the ratio of 1:3 by weight + detonator, wired or wireless) filling the inside of a hollow bell-shaped iron casing, big enough to engulf the top of the blowout preventer, Fig. 1. It may also have a side slot to let the Riser Pipe pass through, Fig.2. (See attachments).

Now, lower the bell-shaped thermite bomb into the water by an iron chain exactly onto the blowout preventer and detonate the thermite inside the bell-shaped iron casing.

The thermite will burn fast at very high temperature causing the bell-shaped iron casing, enveloping the thermite charge, which weighs several tons to melt down. The molten iron will flow down and cover the top of the blowout preventer, instantly plugging and killing the wild well.

  2. Thermite on oil and metan gas?

  3. You know
the column of oil and gas in the ground is 45 000 feet long and weights maybe around 1500 tons and it's moving up to the sea floor.

The task of plugging the leak means: you have to stop a train weighing 1500 tons that's moving at about 1 mile per hour.

All those theater maneuvers in front of the media are jokes.

How can you stop a train with golf balls, rubber shreds and mud thrown on the shield??

It would be laughable if it were not so serious.
